January/February 2019

With 2019 on the horizon, for many a new milestone will be marked as you get another year nearer to the big day, and some of you can officially say, “I’m getting married… this year!” But if the excitement in saying so abates and gives way to panic that there’s still so much to do, don’t worry. In this issue, we look at ways to detox and de-stress in Hot Topic, seeing you through to your nuptials on tip-top form. There’s some great advice here from health professionals around the county on matters from psychology to nutrition. You can even carry this hard-won relaxation into your big day as we look at Kent’s spa venues.

For the dear readers who are fast approaching W-day, you’ll likely be turning your attention to planning a hen or stag do (unless you’ve delegated – in which case, a subtle or not-so-subtle hint can’t hurt). If that’s the case, then hop on over to page 73, where we’ve investigated some super-fun options whether you want to chill, be creative or live for adventure.

As ever, Your Kent Wedding is here to help with oodles of inspiration on every page. Check out our gorgeous couples’ real weddings on pages 36, 44, 52 and 59. If these pages tell you anything, it’s that your wedding day is no one’s but yours, so plan for you and your personality as a couple. Tradition is great, but it shouldn’t be restrictive.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas from everyone here at Your Kent Wedding and happy planning!

Havenfield Hall

Secluded and hidden away from public roads, the house lies at the end of a long front drive, which opens up to reveal the property’s grand scale. The interior has recently been fully refurbished and although modern touches have been added, the various rooms have all been sympathetically decorated to keep their individual character and charm.

Surrounded on all sides by acres of beautiful well-kept gardens, fields and woodlands, Havenfield Hall is a private, fully exclusive venue, meaning you have the run of the place for the big day!

The Old School House features a high, well lit ceiling with exposed timber beams, large windows and French doors to allow plenty of natural light. It can comfortably seat 80 for the vows, whilst offering ample space for the ensuing celebrations. The traditional oak-framed, two-bay Cart Shed with slate-tiled roof, is open faced and situated on a paved courtyard, providing a lovely outdoor space seating 100 of your loved ones for the ‘I dos’. The Bandstand is situated in the heart of the exquisite landscaped gardens, allowing you and 120 of your nearest and dearest to enjoy the sunshine and open air as your ceremony takes place.

Welcome drinks can be served in the courtyard, which is surrounded by the Old School House, Cart Shed and bar also making it the perfect space for a live band or DJ.

The venue offers a free night’s stay for you both, which can be taken on your wedding night or the night before, along with a 50 per cent discount on its honeymoon properties in France.
