Your Kent Wedding - November/December 2022 (Issue 105)

With the opening of Bridal Prep Studios in Ashford, owner Samantha Beeny decided to organise a styled shoot complete with girl-gang vibe. “After all, the morning of your wedding is the time to gather the tribe and get ready together. It’s the perfect start to the day,” she explains. The inspiration for the pink and blue palette came from the male model’s suit. “The colours were perfect, they complemented the environment and weren’t at all overpowering,” Samantha explains. However, the model tested positive for Covid the day before the shoot and couldn’t make it. So, one brave team member, celebrant Katherine Luxford, headed to the local Suit Direct to enquire whether any staff members had any modelling experience and if there were any suits available to borrow. “The world is a magical place sometimes and occasionally everything works out, as it did for us. The lovely Ben stepped in at a moment’s notice and he was great,” Samantha shares. Gemma from Mia Rose Bridal brought along no fewer than six dresses on the day, enough for all the models to try one on. Even Samantha had the opportunity to wear one! “They fit each of us perfectly. It reminded us of the Friends episode: Wedding Dresses,” she laughs. Samantha continues, “It was the best day of my professional life! We had a fantastic mix of start-up and experienced suppliers, and as each one arrived and started their work, I was growing giddy to see the studio being used for its intended purpose. The shoot may have been styled, but the buzz was real. I’m grateful to everyone who took part.” 52
