Your Kent Wedding - January/February 2023 (Issue 106)

“When I saw Madeleine during the ceremony, her beauty overwhelmed me. Afterwards, I felt relaxed and really enjoyed the rest of the day. We had the best time.” – Ray BE OUR GUEST I love Disney and wanted to incorporate it into our wedding, so I decided to have each table represent a different Disney story. I found a supplier who custom-made fairylight jam jars depicting various Disney themes and the tables were Winnie-the-Pooh, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, Bambi and Tinkerbell. For each table I sat the jars on a circular glass stand and alongside them I added an accessory. These included a ‘Hunny’ pot and chocolate bee for Winnie-the-Pooh, and for the wedding favours jars of miniature honey with customised stickers reading, ‘A sweet thank you,’ along with the wedding date. Beauty and the Beast was accessorised with rose petals and my bridesmaid, Katie, made sponge cakes with grey icing for the wedding favours. I added customised stickers to these too, which read, ‘Try the grey stuff, it’s delicious.’ Ray and I chose to have our own sweetheart table for the wedding breakfast. We had the Tinkerbell theme and accessorised it with little jars of fairy dust, along with jars of sherbet. The place names were cards depicting the Disney Castle. Similarly, we used a Disney-themed baby pink table plan. We had a massive statement flower chandelier in the middle of the wedding breakfast room. It looked fabulous and added a lovely floral touch. We had a naked cake with a different flavour per tier: vanilla, chocolate, and salted caramel. It was decorated with flowers, fruits and berries. Not only did it look beautiful, it tasted delicious! 38
