The Castle Westenhanger

The Castle Westenhanger is steeped in history dating back to the 16th century. Inside, you can enjoy a visual feast of exposed beams, and stunning features such as the inglenook fireplace, all surrounded by original brickwork. There’s a wonderfully romantic ambience here that brings history and romance to life.

A scheduled ancient monument with Grade I listed status reflecting both its national and historic importance, the Castle has been home to prominent figures such as Henry VIII, Edward VI and Queen Victoria. The gorgeous 14 acres of grounds feature the manor house, castle turrets, thatched gazebo and luxury marquee. It’s a photographer’s paradise with endless opportunities for incredible shots, and unforgettable backdrops such as Rosamond’s tower.

You also have the use of the bridal dressing room located on the upper level of the manor house available from 9am on your wedding day until midnight.

Space to celebrate;
- The thatched gazebo sits on the main lawn surrounded by the castle turrets and Rosamond’s tower, meaning your guests can get a good view of the ceremony whilst enjoying the surrounding history and beauty (120 ceremony guests).
- The manor house is the indoor ceremony option. Facing the Georgian façade, it offers a truly romantic dream castle wedding (120 ceremony guests).
- The luxury marquee is the spot where receptions are held. With its sweeping drapes, magnificent chandeliers and starlit ceiling above the spacious dancefloor it offers a great opportunity to entertain your guests in style (200 dining, 300 evening guests).
