Can you believe we’re now into summer already? Sure, I’m looking forward to longer days, sunny conditions and barbecues with friends, but above all I’m excited about the triumphant return of weddings. And boy, have you all waited long enough! I can’t wait to see how your plans come to life and can see big days being even more celebratory than they previously were, if that’s even possible. We’ve all developed a deeper appreciation for the fi ner things in life over the past 18 months, love being chief among them, and to see it taking centre stage once more is something I’m thrilled about. So, as soon as Boris gives the green light, grab your loved ones, hug them as tight as possible and party like it’s 1999! If there’s one thing I do know, it’s that as giddy as you are at the prospect of fi nally going ahead with your well-deserved dream day, your suppliers will be every bit as cock-a-hoop to be getting back to what they love. They can’t hide their lights under a bushel for long, so as usual; this issue is about showcasing what they do best. Broome Park Hotel
Built in 1635, Broome Park Hotel offers a Grade I listed mansion-house setting in the heart of South East Kent. Situated in Canterbury, it’s set amongst no less than 250 acres of grounds, which feature a professional golf course. The site is also home to ample guest accommodation in the shape of 14 lodges and 19 hotel rooms, the interior of which reflect the traditional character of the property.
The Italian Gardens offer a stunning spot for al fresco “I dos” and boast original 19th-century features including an original archway where you can exchange your vows with 120 of your nearest and dearest looking on.
If you prefer to wed indoors the Georgian Room is a characterful spot complete with original features from the era of previous owner Lord Kitchener, including high ceilings and a large bay window. It too can host 120 for the ceremony before transforming into your reception space for 80 at a seated wedding breakfast and 100 for the evening bash.
Finally, the marquee located in the grounds overlooks the Kentish countryside with the mansion house also in full view. It can accommodate 150 for the wedding breakfast and 200 for the evening reception.
A complimentary menu tasting is included in two of the four wedding packages and an overnight stay for the newlyweds is always a feature.

Bromley Court Hotel has just launched a whole host of new wedding packages available for 2022-23. Costs range from £99 per person for the To Have and To Hold package to £137 per person for the Forever and Always package. We think the From This Day Forward option offers terrific value. At £122 per person based on a minimum number of 45 adult guests, it includes the following: a menu tasting for the two of you, wedding breakfast room hire, arrival red carpet, floral centrepieces, chair covers and sashes, a glass of prosecco on arrival and another for toasts, half a bottle of house wine per person, still and sparkling water, evening buffet for adult day guests, executive bedroom on the wedding night, and breakfast in bed for the newlyweds, plus the services of an experienced a wedding coordinator.
