Marie Cranstoun and Lee Kitchener enjoyed a memorable big day with friends and family at Knowle Country House

Marie first met Lee in his mum's pub – where they hit it off straight away. They remained friends for around six months before they got together. Lee decided to wait until Marie's 21st birthday five years later before he shocked his bride-to-be with a romantic proposal. Thirteen years' later they tied the knot, and luckily it was well worth the wait.

Here, Marie tells us all about their romantic wedding…

We loved Knowle Country House. It was stunning and we had a warm feeling as soon as we arrived. For us, it had the whole shebang!

Real love: Image 2aWe went for birdcage centrepieces to tie the styling into the look and feel of the building – anything too modern wouldn't look right. Audrey from Rose Royce guided me on my choices and was amazing.

Real love: Image 2 I always had an image in my head of what I wanted for our wedding. I absolutely love butterflies so our favours were a butterfly box containing a candle with our names and wedding date, and some rose petals.

Our cake had a coral ribbon to match our navy and coral colour scheme. It had three tiers that were chocolate, lemon and victoria sponge.

Real love: Image 4aThe place settings were in a vintage-style to be in keeping with the history of the building.

Real love: Image 4 Finding my dress was a bit of luck really. Someone I knew had picked three dresses for their wedding; but obviously only needed one. She asked if I wanted to try them on and as soon as I did the one with the 'Bally Bridal' label just felt right. It was strapless with a mermaid shape and I felt like a total princess in it.

We entertained our guests with a tasty sweetie table.

Real love: Image 6aMy bouquet consisted of rose and gypsophila and gerberas. It had a hint of coral to match the bridesmaids' dresses.

Real love: Image 6 It was very special to be saying our vows in front of our loved ones.

Lee wore a blue suit and an ivory waistcoat, while his groomsmen wore matching blue waistcoats.

Real love: Image 8aOur colour scheme really came to life at the reception.

Real love: Image 8 Lee's speech completely shocked me. For him to sit and write so much and then stand up and say it in front of everyone was amazing. His words were very emotional and everyone had tears in their eyes as he spoke about what everyone meant to him.

We had a DJ who played when the guests arrived and then later in the evening when the party got started. We were asked to pick songs we liked, so chose a mixture of everything to keep the younger and older guests happy.

I'm absolutely overwhelmed with my photos from the day. The moments Michelle captured were amazing and our friends and family have commented on how great she was.
