With two royal engagements this year, sales of replica rings continue to soar.
Online jewellery retailer Jewlr has introduced another royal addition to its line-up of engagement rings with the launch of a Princess Eugenie replica. The company has revealed huge sales in its first week of launch, continuing the royal replica sales drive.
Since the princess announced her engagement to Jack Brooksbank last month, searches for pink sapphires have grown by 85%. Princess Eugenie's choice of a padparadscha sapphire follows an increasing trend for alternative engagement ring styles in the UK. Jewlr released statistics last year that revealed its customers were starting to opt for coloured stones more frequently, with its sales of birthstones in engagement rings such as sapphires and emeralds increasing by 25% year on year.
This follows recent news from the online jeweller, that since Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's engagement, its replica engagement ring named 'The Duchess' quickly became its bestseller, topping other engagement styles by 20%. The royal influence also increased searches for 'three stone rings' up by 270%. Jewlr also revealed that sales of a pair of replica earrings almost identical to ones worn by Meghan at a recent public appearance increased by 50% almost immediately.
Jewlr founder Tony Davis, says, "Following the great success of our Duchess ring, we decided to create a replica of Princess Eugenie's due to demand from our UK customers for royal lookalike styles. Luckily our production technology allows us to create replicas in record time and offer UK customers something near identical. With an exciting year ahead for the royal family, we look forward to seeing more of their jewellery choices at public appearances and weddings."
