Emma says, "I know that at the moment we’re just trying to get through the day to day as best we can. Really thinking of couples who’ve spent the last few months planning weddings, and are now looking to postpone. 

"But apart from that, I’m looking forward to reaching the other side. At the moment, my rescheduling brides are managing to secure their venues for slots in October and November, but this is looking to be a very busy time. Other cake makers are saying that they’re also reaching full capacity towards the end of the year. So if you’re looking to get married towards the end of the year, or in early 2021, and have a venue booked – you need to nail down your suppliers quite quickly.

"I’ll be taking on an extra pair of hands to help with baking and deliveries if things get really frantic: there’s no way I can let down couples I’ve already booked in and who have changed their dates, so I am operationally quite agile. 

"Anyway, I’ll go back to posting samples when restrictions are lifted a bit, and moving all consultations to video. I’m thinking this will be a bit fun, and can’t see how it will be less effective than meeting face to face."
