A wedding gift list idea completely bespoke - yes please!
Nowadays, couples more than likely live together pre-nuptials so of course, have everything they need for the home making choosing a gift list rather tricky. With COVID19 curbing the popular honeymoon-donations gift, what can couples now look to ask for? Why not, ask for a gift for your home OF your home with a bespoke print from Kate Guy.
An ideal house-warming gift for a new home, a memento of your old one if you're moving or just because you love the home you're in - Kate combines a number of printmaking techniques along with hand-colouring to create unique, highly individual portraits that capture the essence and character of a property. Kate can work either a site visit or from photographs which means she can work on commissions from not only all over the UK, but all over the world!
The idea started when Kate had a pop-up exhibition which featured prints of the local area. One of the visitors commented on how she loved a print of a nearby road but unfortunately it missed her house off - so Kate suggested she could be commissioned to work on a piece which did include the house - and so a new project was born.
Each commission is tailor-made to reflect the personality of the home and the immediate area and Kate will chat with the homeowner before proceeding with the artwork which can take several weeks to complete."I do not make an exact representation of the property, I try to capture the feeling of the home. I often include local features, front and back of the property and any particularly personal touches that make it your home." comments Kate.
