We hope you're enjoying the new issue of Your Kent Wedding magazine, packed with Real Weddings. One of our lovely couples are Chrissie and Steve, married on 23rd June 2018, in the Astor Wing of Kent jewel, Hever Castle, styled with a Medieval twist.

It was love at first sight for Steve when Chrissie started her new job at the same company. Attracted to her bubbly, friendly, outgoing nature and long dark hair, he knew immediately he had to ask her for a date. The initial impression was mutual, Chrissie says, “Steve is a real gentleman. I was attracted to his kind and caring personality.”

What started as a workplace romance evolved into the decision to spend the rest of their lives together as Steve popped the question two years later. Chrissie remembers, “He proposed on Christmas Day morning when we were opening our presents.” As he handed the love of his life one last special present, Steve got down on one knee as she pulled off the wrapping paper. “It was a lovely personal moment for just the two of us and as family were coming for Christmas dinner we were able to share the news and celebrate together,” Chrissie says.

Given a lifelong fascination with Tudor history, it was a childhood dream for Chrissie to get married at Hever Castle. Having visited many times as a child, she felt passionate about its rich history as the setting for one of the most famous love stories of her favourite period – Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. The lovebirds visited the castle together once they were engaged and loved the venue so much; they booked on the spot.
