Venue spotlight on Hall Place and Gardens

Hall Place is a Grade I listed Tudor house with a panelled Great Hall and beautiful Great Chamber with carved ceiling. Displaying the individual styles of its two historic periods, with the Tudor monastic stone walls and red Jacobean red brick, you have the opportunity to experience the best of both worlds.

Standing within award-winning registered landscaped gardens, the venue offers two courtyards – quaint spaces for your photos, and the perfect setting for reception drinks. Topiary shapes, rose gardens and magnolia walks, with the River Cray flowing through, the gardens exude a sense of serenity. In the wider parkland, you’ll find herbaceous borders and wild flowers, encouraging a feel of wellbeing at every turn.

The vows
You’ll be spoilt for choice with a selection of wonderful locations to say your “I dos”. The Great Hall can accommodate 100 of your loved ones and overlooks the North Courtyard. Also with space for 100 is the Tudor Kitchen. This is a rustic room offering intimacy and access to the North Courtyard.

On the first floor the light and airy Great Chamber, overlooking the topiary lawn, can play host to 50 of your nearest and dearest. Finally, the cosiest of spaces, the Parlour, has room for 40 guests. A smaller panelled room, it offers a haven among the history of the house.

Celebrate in style
The Great Hall at the heart of the venue is available for your reception for 100 seated and a further 40 for evenings. The North Courtyard is a great place for reception drinks – as is any one of the historic rooms in inclement weather.
