Winter wedding beauty tutorial - Part one: Pretty princess

Look 1: Pretty Princess

This is a simple up-do with a nod to Anna from Frozen, keeping the detail at the back as a lovely surprise. Remember to pose showing the hair off during your wedding photos – so look to the side or over your shoulder.

This look is so versatile and will complement various dress styles, including high neck, or classic sweetheart necklines, to this embellished princess lace and beaded detailed dress. The shoulders are thick and the hair elongates the neck.

The make-up for this look is quite strong and is ideal for a wedding at a crossover seasonal time from autumn to the more chillier months.

HAIR step-by-step:

1. Start with freshly washed and dried hair. 
2. Spray through Goldwell Naturally Full Bodifying Spray. 
3. Curl all hair using medium GHDs - Making sure to curl the front section away from the face and spraying each time with Goldwell Magic Finish Hairspray. 
4. Backcomb crown at root and pin high to secure. 
5. Spray with Goldwell Big Finish Hairspray. 
6. Secure the back section by looping and pinning with strong pins. 
7. Pin back the front section in the same way, but leave some hair loose to frame face. 
8. Secure any loose hair with fine pins and spray with more Goldwell Big Finish Hairspray 
9. Finally, spray the whole look with Goldwell Diamond Gloss Spray. 

Hair stylist Suzanne says: “This look is great with a full fringe, but you can add a clip-in fringe or just frame face with shorter strains of hair.”

MAKE-UP step-by-step: 

1. Ensure the face is clean and moisturised with a non-greasy light product.
2. Prime the skin and allow to soak in to the skin, and then apply the correct blend of Airbase Airbrushing foundation with a medium to full coverage. 
3. Prime the eyes and then apply copper eyeshadow all over the lids creating a smudged effect.
4. Buff over the top with a dark autumnal brown and take to the outer edge to give definition and enhance the eyes. 
5. Apply the shadow underneath the eye. 
6. Add black kohl liner on the waterline to create depth to the smoky look, and apply mascara.
7. Add mascara and apply long lashes and more mascara on bottom lashes.
8. With such strong smoky eyes, the eyebrows need to be defined with gel, wax, shadow or pencil. Especially if your do not have a fringe.
9. Add a deep blush to the cheeks, blending fully up the cheekbones towards the temples.
10. This plum coloured lipstick is a daring shade but really balances the strong eyes. Use a lip-liner in one shade darker than the lipstick to create fullness, which is sometimes lost with darker shades.

Make-up artist Kelli says: ‘...keep this smoky look quite defined and neat rather than too smudgy, as it is still quite classic.’
