January/February 2023

Well, first things first: Happy New Year! I hope your Christmas was truly magical and your New Year celebrations ones to remember. Now, safely in 2023 you’re either on your next milestone to W-day or finally, you’re only months away. And, of course, there are those of you with a shiny, new ring on you finger – massive congratulations to you. Allow me to welcome you to the wonderful world of wedding planning. It’ll be a riot, you’re gonna love it!

So, whether you’re putting your best foot forward and making your first tentative steps into the world of weddings, or you’re well on your way and looking to refine the finer points, we’ve got something for you this issue. We picked the brains of the county’s oh-so talented and all-around marvellous wedding suppliers, who helped us put together, what we think, is an indispensable guide to planning. So, if you’re starting out, this is definitely one for you. For those of you, with a little left over cash in the budget wondering where to spend it, don’t miss our finishing touches feature, Delight in the Details. Here you’ll discover what’s trending in 2023 and some must-have added extras you might not have considered.

Those who’ve been there, done that and bought the T-shirt never fail to inspire. That’s why we’ve brought you another bevy of beautiful real weddings to marvel at. Quite apart from the fabulous ideas they’re sure to offer, if you’re anything like me you’ll equally enjoy the genuine love stories they share. They never fail to make me smile.

Without any further ado I’ll leave you to dive in to this, our first issue of 2023. I’m incredibly excited to be presenting you with another year of wedspiration.

Enjoy and keeeep planning!

Bromley Court Hotel

Bromley Court is a hotel steeped in history and has the atmosphere of a wonderful and intimate country house. Years of hospitality experience have gone into fine-tuning its rooms and event spaces to guarantee you a great stay and the team like to keep things simple by making sure everything you could ever need is included as standard.

The grounds are bursting with both beauty and 200 years of history. The Italianate gardens are a particular highlight with urns and terracing, plus a myriad of colourful flowers blooming all year round.

The Wellington Suite is the Hotel’s most popular wedding space. Situated on the ground floor it consists of two rooms with connecting doors, its own bar and large windows offering fabulous views of the gardens. From here, you’ll have access to an external patio area and the gardens beyond. The space can accommodate 90 for the ceremony and wedding breakfast and 150 for a standing buffet.

The Garden Restaurant is elegant and bright with views over the landscaped garden and patio area, to which there is direct access. There’s an adjoining bar and lounge area, complete with ornate fireplace and chandeliers. Plus, the Garden Suite has its own dancefloor with fitted disco and lighting, available if the venue’s DJ is booked. It can accommodate 180 for the ceremony, 180 for the wedding breakfast and 250 for a standing buffet.

There’s also a choice of more intimate spaces: The Darwin Room (60 ceremony, 60 dining, 65 buffet guests), The Amelia’s Room (40 ceremony and 40 dining guests), and Leona’s Room (20 ceremony and 20 dining guests).

Some of the wedding packages include a menu-tasting and some also include an anniversary meal.
