Sara and Cameron met in Portugal, where Cameron was on a stag do, and Sara was enjoying a relaxing break with a girlfriend. They dated for a spell before gradually losing touch. Happily, the pair reconnected in January 2016, and within six days, they were a couple once more. By November of the following year, the couple were engaged.
The date was set for 11th August, 2018, and the venue of choice was Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve. We asked the bride what attracted her to the venue, and she told us: “It's a safari park!” Fair point – that is pretty cool! Here we learn more about the big day…
The big-day bake was a clean and chic four-tier tower, embellished with hand-painted blue aeroplanes. Elegant white roses and gypsophila dressed the summit and base, with a cute Mr & Mrs Gray caketopper.
Sara's bouquet was a gorgeous teardrop shape featuring white roses, a stunning shade of blue hydrangea, gypsophila and ivy, subtly and brilliantly complementing the theme.
The fab table plan complemented the travel theme, with a dusty blue world map and tables named after countries the couple have visited. The tables also featured pictures of the pair in the relevant countries – super cute!
“I wore Layton by Maggie Sottero accessorised with pearls my late father bought me years ago. I also had a gorgeous pair of Jimmy Choo shoes that Cam bought me.” – Sara
“Cameron wore a three-piece navy Tom Ford suit with dusty blue pocket square and tie, paired with dark brown brogues from Church's. I bought him a set of personalised cufflinks, made by the same person who did my engagement and wedding rings. They were also inscribed by the same person who engraved the FA Cup!” – Sara
“I was so nervous! Cameron was cool as a cucumber – as always!” – Sara
“We're going on our honeymoon in February. We'll be heading to the West Indies to watch England's cricket tour.” – Sara
“Cameron and I planned and funded the wedding ourselves. I'm really proud of the job we did and the fact that we didn't need to rely on anyone else for anything. I think we pulled off a great event.” – Sara
