Come fly with me: Sara and Cameron

Sara and Cameron tied the knot at Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve, with a travel-inspired theme, styled in a chic dusty blue palette.

Sara and Cameron met in Portugal, where Cameron was on a stag do, and Sara was enjoying a relaxing break with a girlfriend. They dated for a spell before gradually losing touch. Happily, the pair reconnected in January 2016, and within six days, they were a couple once more. By November of the following year, the couple were engaged.

The date was set for 11th August, 2018, and the venue of choice was Port Lympne Hotel and Reserve. We asked the bride what attracted her to the venue, and she told us: “It's a safari park!” Fair point – that is pretty cool! Here we learn more about the big day…

The couple chose a travel theme with dusty blue palette. Favours were in keeping and took the shape of compass wine stoppers for the women and aeroplane bottle openers for the men.

Come fly with me: Image 2The big-day bake was a clean and chic four-tier tower, embellished with hand-painted blue aeroplanes. Elegant white roses and gypsophila dressed the summit and base, with a cute Mr & Mrs Gray caketopper.

We love the white blossom trees from Big Day Prop Hire, which flanked the aisle and acted as centrepieces in a smaller version, neatly tying together the outside ceremony space with the reception.

Come fly with me: Image 4The fab table plan complemented the travel theme, with a dusty blue world map and tables named after countries the couple have visited. The tables also featured pictures of the pair in the relevant countries – super cute!

“We took the whole wedding party on safari and got a great band in for the evening: Electric Ocean. Everyone thought they were absolutely fantastic!” – Sara

I bought him a set of personalised cufflinks, made by the same person who did my engagement and wedding rings. They were also inscribed by the same person who engraved the FA Cup!” – Sara

“All of our suppliers were so amazing. Big Day Prop Hire was brilliant in working with our ideas and even built pedestals to perfect our aisle, which was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my entire life.” – Sara

Come fly with me: Image 8b “Cameron and I planned and funded the wedding ourselves. I'm really proud of the job we did and the fact that we didn't need to rely on anyone else for anything. I think we pulled off a great event.” – Sara

“The groomsmen wore navy suits with cream checked waistcoats and the same pocket square and tie as Cameron.” – Sara

“The bridesmaids were dressed in dusty blue dresses by Dessy. They were the girls' pick – I wasn't allowed to comment on their choice!” – Sara
