This wedding venue is set in an estate of 2,500 acres, the 14th-century house and formal gardens are steeped in natural splendour and historical architecture. With sandstone walls and an impressive sweeping driveway on the private north-side entrance, it's been described as the perfect combination of an inspiring castle combined with an intimate country manor house. The 14th-century, Grade I listed, gardens are considered to be amongst the most beautiful in England. Originally laid out in 1346, their 11 acres have been kept true to their Elizabethan design. Colourfully surrounding the house with a breathtaking blend of roses, tulips, blossoms and herbaceous plants, they make Penshurst Place an enchanting photographic backdrop.
   The great news is that you can say "I do" surrounded by these beautiful gardens. The Inner Courtyard, which sits beneath the Kings Tower, adjacent to the Baron's Hall, is fully licensed for 120. You also have the opportunity for celebrant-led ceremonies amongst the formal gardens and parklands, which is new for 2020. Ideal if you're looking for a countryside setting amongst the ancient trees and historical gardens. Indoor options are, of course, available in the form of the Baron's Hall, Sunderland Room and Buttery, which can play host to guest numbers of 30 to 200. It's also possible to host your dream day in a marquee in the Inner Courtyard or South Lawn for up to 300.
