Blessing, would you do us the honour of telling us a bit about yourself?
I'm fondly referred to as Madame Blé, The Queen of Bling. I'm wife to a wonderful man and mother to three beautiful daughters - so my life is full of pink and sparkle! I'm particularly known for my attraction to chandeliers and all things lush and opulent. I'm a creative, result-driven entrepreneur with extensive experience in event design and production, business development, organisational development, personal and professional development.

I'm the go-to expert for cultural weddings and parties for many of the leading wedding venues in Kent, such as Lympne Castle, Broome Park Hotel and Salomons Estate, to mention a few. In my previous career in learning and development, I designed, planned and managed many conferences, away days, personnel and business development programmes, so making events happen has always been a part of my life.
Where does your love of weddings come from?
If you've ever watched the movie, 27 Dresses, the main character's life pretty much represents mine throughout my 20s! I was everyone's choice of bridesmaid becuase I was the go-to friend for wedding and party planning. My shared flat in Balham, London, was a popular venue for many bridal showers, parties and the night before/wedding day dresing space.
After watching every episode of David Tutera's wedding planning programmes and falling in love with him and what he does, I decided that since I couldn't become David, or marry him, I'd dream of being a special events designer and planner myself. And that's just what I became!

You're a busy lady! What's next?
I want to continue to positively contribute to the lives of the Blé Bride Tribe by serving them with my expertise and years of experience, making their dream weddings come true.
It takes meticulous planning to pull off a couple’s desire alongside their budget and their family‘s expectations. All expectations need to be managed whilst retaining focus on the couple, avoiding the pressing family demands that can cause a hijack – I make it my job to keep it as your day. That's our job, and my team and I can deal with issues objectively and not emotionally, leaving out the possible hurt that tends to occur as a result of a couples' objection to hostile family take overs, which believe me, can happen! Sometimes, with cultural weddings, interracial weddings and traditional marriage ceremonies you have multiple cultures and tribes coming together. I have to be attentive to what matters and to all involved. I must know who the key stakeholders are, understand the dynamics of every family I'm dealing with and serve within those existing dynamics.
I class myself as a professional learner, so I'm always developing myself as a person - my emotional intelligence, my communication skills, my resilience. I value myself and what I do, so I always want to give my clients the best of me.
As we recover from this dreadful pandemic, I want to be there for my couples and their families, my clients, venues, colleagues and suppliers in every way I can, as it's together that we can make magic happen once again for us all.
