Local shoot: 70s style

Inspired by Bianca and Mick Jagger’s wedding, this local team of wedding suppliers brought some rock ’n’ roll to a yoga retreat nestled in West Peckham, Kent.  Noticing a shift in sustainable living more couples are looking to make more eco-conscious choices in the planning of their wedding, as well as looking to give back or explore ways to be sustainable. Despite the current guest-list limit, a low key approach can still be beautiful and fun.

The reception was set up in a beautiful tent pitched in the grounds of the Samsara Retreat & Yoga. The table was adorned with freshly cut flowers almost all grown and picked in Kent. Vibrant and colourful blooms were selected with the seventies vibe in mind. Natalie the wedding designer and stylist of The Elysian Styling Company opted for green plates accompanied with crystal glasses for a touch of vintage class. Embracing relaxed atmosphere large cushions and throws with bright print and woven textures added to the retro theme.

Models and real couple Laura and John have super-fun personalities, perfect for this shoot. For effortless white tailoring the bride wore an elegant bridal jumpsuit by Savannah Miller provided by Brides Do Good, an ethical bridal company that encourages brides to shop more sustainably. A percentage of sales is invested in charitable projects to end child marriage. Anna Pavlou founder of Mudu London was commissioned to create the bride's hat - this was a beautiful felt boater with a cute veil. Bridesmaid Freya wore a woven straw boater with a contrast black grosgrain ribbon. The groom looks dapper in a modern dandy look with a burgundy double breasted blazer together with a white buttoned shirt, check trousers and black converse trainers.
