Byre Barn Launches as Kent's Most Anticipated Wedding Venue with Autumn Open Day

A new luxury wedding venue is opening its doors in the heart of Kent this autumn. Byre Barn combines rustic countryside charm with refined design, offering couples an exclusive use venue where food, drink, and detail take centre stage. The doors will officially open at the Autumn Open Day on Sunday 21st September, from 12–3pm, giving couples their first opportunity to step inside and experience Byre Barn's Walled Garden, elegant barn interiors, and autumn inspired styling.

At the heart of the Byre Barn experience is its exclusive partnership with award winning chef Matt Sworder of The Corner House Restaurant in Canterbury. Unlike the standard three course menus so often associated with weddings, Byre Barn will deliver restaurant quality dining that feels indulgent, contemporary, and memorable. Couples can expect dishes straight from The Corner House menus, beautifully plated courses, abundant sharing boards designed to bring everyone together, and homemade ice cream served in the gardens on a summer's day. Every element is rooted in Matt's acclaimed "simple food, done well" philosophy, celebrating the best of Kentish produce.

In keeping with its commitment to authenticity, Byre Barn also champions local excellence by partnering with independent Kent suppliers across food, drink, and wedding services. From Whitstable Harbour Gin cocktails to beers, wines and sparkling from Balfour, Chapel Down and Woodchurch Vineyard, every detail is designed to showcase the best of the county, while a handpicked network of florists, cake artists, and stylists ensures a truly bespoke experience. Crucially, Byre Barn will host a maximum of two weddings per week, giving couples the day before to set up and the day after to collect belongings. No "in and out" approach, just the time and space to enjoy every moment without compromise.

"Byre Barn was created for couples who want more than the ordinary," said Jonathan Sawyers. "From restaurant quality dining to working with the best of Kent's suppliers and with the exclusivity of just two weddings each week, we have built a venue where every detail feels considered, stylish, and authentic. Our Open Day this September is the very first chance to experience this new chapter for weddings in Kent."

With its promise of exclusivity, refined spaces, and a focus on food, drink, and exceptional service, Byre Barn is set to redefine countryside weddings for 2026 and beyond.
