Penshurst Place and Gardens has been named Wedding Venue of the Year 2019 by the Kent Wedding Awards, scooping the prestigious award for the third time.

Set in the beautiful Weald of Kent, Penshurst Place is a stunning 14th-century country house, surrounded by 11 acres of historic gardens. Judges described it as a quintessentially English venue, brimming with romance, elegance and style. They were particularly impressed with the splendid choice of banqueting rooms, each offering its own unique perspective.

The winners were announced at the Kent Wedding Awards ceremony on Thursday 15thNovember.

Penshurst Place was up against stiff competition for the Wedding Venue of the Year Award, including some of the biggest venues in the county.

Judges commented that they especially loved the obvious care and attention given to each couple, right from their very first encounter to their last dance. They said that Penshurst Place clearly demonstrated that nothing is too much trouble and considered it a memorable and unique wedding experience.

Ben Thomas, General Manager at Penshurst Place and Gardens, commented, “We are thrilled to have won the main category, the Wedding Venue of the Year 2019, at the annual Kent Wedding Awards. This is the third time that Penshurst has won the award so it really is a huge achievement! It was particularly rewarding for us that the judges picked up on the bespoke elements and personal approach that we take with each and every wedding, no matter how big or small. Many of the couples that choose to celebrate their special day here tell us it’s those personalised touches that really make the difference, and that’s something we’re extremely proud of.”

Penshurst Place has been a licensed venue for ceremonies since 1995. It has banqueting facilities of varying sizes including the unique, medieval Baron’s Hall which can be used for ceremonies and receptions.

The venue is holding an Open Day on Sunday 13thJanuary 2019 for couples wishing to have a look around the house and gardens, providing an opportunity to chat to a range of wedding suppliers and specialists, or discuss the finer details of their wedding day with Penshurst Place’s experienced wedding coordinators.
