Bizarre wedding traditions: The Eurovision edition
Wedding traditions are dramatically different around the world. From the type of cake served to...
The Commissioner's House, built in 1703 is steeped in glorious Georgian architecture. The beautiful brick building has a regal red-carpeted staircase leading guests into the venue and giving couples a richly deserved VIP welcome on their wedding day. The balcony to the back of the house overlooks the grand gardens, making a great spot for unique photos.
Various licensed ceremony spaces are available both inside and out. HMS Gannet is a gorgeous Victorian sloop, launched in 1878 and ideal for couples looking for something out of the ordinary. Here, 70 people can be seated on the main deck, or 40 in the Commander's Cabin. Commissioner's House patio adjoins the stunning landscaped gardens and can play host 70 of your loved ones for the ceremony. The Sunne Room is the venue's interior ceremony location and can be found on the first floor, this again has capacity for 70 of your nearest and dearest. The views from this spot are spectacular, overlooking the gardens in full bloom. The room also has direct access to the aforementioned balcony.
Receptions take place on the ground floor of the house, which includes a private bar, marquee, ballroom and patio with gardens. These downstairs areas have a capacity of 120 for wedding breakfasts and upwards of 250 evening guests.
