Weddings in 2023: Make sure your big day is protected
A wedding is a special day for a couple, but it can also be an expensive one. Between venues,...
Kent winery, Mereworth Wines, has launched Marourde Sprtiz and Rosé Sprtiz, set to be the perfect match for the contemporary wedding. Dubbed “the world’s oldest new drink,” Marourde Spritz is medium-dry and bursts with citrus and honey flavours, complemented by woody undertones, with a bright, crisp finish. By popular demand, the newly perfected Marourde Rosé Spritz explodes with honied hedgerow black fruits, with the delicate infusions of elderflower and elderberry lingering on the palate.
One of the most common associations with honey wine is its union with weddings, and as the first ever alcoholic beverage, it has a history dating back 9,000 years. The original drink of the wedding toast, it’s been supped to bring assurances of good luck and happiness to newlyweds for generations.
Blessed with such a rich heritage, the team at Mereworth Wines have ignited their passion for fermentation and wine-making techniques, setting out to rejuvenate this old drink for a very modern occasion.
