Your Kent Wedding editor Kelly Andrews chatted to Joanne Bryant of Sprivers Mansion about everything from her time at the gorgeous Kent venue to what you can expect from your wedding day there.
Tell us about yourself...
I've been running the venue at Sprivers Mansion since 2014 when we leased the property from the National Trust. We take care of 10 acres with the help of our gardeners and the National Trust look after the 100 acre estate. My role is to manage the building, the business and to help couples with wedding planning and coordination of suppliers on the day.
What can couples expect from their wedding day at Sprivers Mansion?
Couples and their loved ones can expect to feel like they've been on a weekend country house stay, and as though they've hosted a wedding at their own private estate. The flexibility and freedom we bring to set-up days before the wedding, along with somewhere to call 'home' during that time, has proved invaluable to previous couples and their guests.
The main house is open to loved ones throughout the wedding day and evening, as are the 10 acres of formal gardens and the 100 acre estate.
I'm on hand throughout the set-up process and throughout the wedding day, along with our trusted catering and marquee staff. You'll meet with our front of house manager the day before your wedding to run through the finer details and set up the marquee dining. She'll then return the following day and be with you throughout your event.
Whilst my husband and I are won't be far away on the day should you need us, we do like to give you the privacy to host your event without us being overbearing!
How many people can couples invite to their big day at Sprivers Mansion?
Our beautiful Yellow Room in the main house can seat up to 60 guests for the civil ceremony, and the gardens can seat up to 150 for al fresco vows.
Drinks in the house and gardens usually follow the "I dos," whether they be at the venue or during a church service. The marquee is set up to seat 120 guests, but can accommodate up to 180 seated. Up to 200 nearest and dearest can be present at any one time.
The elegant and generously proportioned bridal suite in the main Georgian house.
The main bedroom with its seven-foot emperor bed, plus additional double room and bathroom with roll top bath, makes the perfect space for bridal preparations, as well as a luxurious wedding night for the bride and groom.
We host only 12 exclusive-use weddings per year, so there's never the sense of being on a conveyor belt, or of being rushed in and out. We want you to feel that you've hired the whole place for the weekend, even if you choose not to extend your stay beyond one night. We like to give you the freedom to host an event that's totally yours, as all weddings are different.
