Penshurst Place & Gardens hosts Wedding Open House to unveil new event space

An open invitation has been announced by Penshurst Place & Gardens in the Weald of Kent for wedding couples to view the beautiful banqueting rooms and a brand new space now available at the magnificent historic house and Kent country estate during an open house event on Sunday, 26th February 2023 between 10am and 3pm.

The award-winning wedding venue will be throwing open its doors for couples and those planning a special celebration to drop-in without an invitation on 26th February. It provides the perfect opportunity to see the stunning banqueting rooms in the ancient manor house beautifully dressed for a celebration, as well as view The Garden Room -- a new area that can be used for ceremonies, receptions and parties.

Repurposed from its original role as a restaurant to become a flexible, function space, the Garden Room is located alongside the South Lawn at Penshurst Place and accessed independent of the main house. Accommodating between 30 people to 120 people, the ground floor room is suitable for a variety of purposes and has wheel-chair access.  It provides an adaptable, additional room that can be utilised for dining, dancing or drink receptions, allowing couples to decide how they would like to incorporate it into their wedding day plans.

To attend the open invitation event, couples may simply turn up on the day and enter via the private entrance at Penshurst Place TN11 8DH (located on Penshurst Road) between 10am and 3pm -- there’s no need to make an appointment.  With a glass of fizz in hand, those attending will be able to chat with Penshurst's friendly wedding coordinators around the warming, central fire in the Baron’s Hall and be free to explore the four ceremony and banqueting rooms to envisage how the historic country estate would provide a magical setting for their celebration.

As this will be an open house event rather than a wedding fair, there won't be any suppliers present, but Penshurst’s experienced hospitality team will be on hand to offer plenty of suggestions, menu ideas and free party-planning advice.
