The Historic Dockyard Chatham has stunning scenery, ranging from the majestic ships docked to the towering red brick buildings.

Dockyard with huge boat with masts

Nestled in the heart of the dockyard, the beautiful Georgian manor house, Commissioner's House, exudes an aura of romance and offers an array of spacious rooms. The ballroom features stunning crown mouldings and has picturesque views. Boasting a dancefloor, and full stocked bar, it can host 70 day guests and leads out onto the patio and gardens, and conveniently connects to the marquee with twinkling fairylights.

Up the grand staircase with painted ceiling, discover the Sunne Room, which offers a breathtaking view of the gardens and has space for 70 loved ones. With a seating capacity of 120, the marquee is the most spacious among the venue's ceremony spaces. The venue is illuminated with delicate fairy lights, which exude a soft glow, while offering a stunning view of our gardens. The venue's gardens provide the perfect setting for an idyllic outdoor ceremony with up to 70 guests. Surrounded by beautiful flowers and views of Commissioner's House, it really is a beautiful space, as is the patio, also licensed for ceremonies of up to 70 loved ones. There's also two getting ready rooms available for the morning preparation!

For something a little more unique HMS Gannet, a ship of the Victorian Royal Navy, provides a romantic location for saying your vows. On board, the intimate cabin (40 guests) is perfect for smaller ceremonies or choose the main deck (70) which boasts ivory canvas and wooden decks that have seen the world's seas! This exceptional and thrilling location is sure to impress guests.

Celebrate your wedding reception in the utmost style and elegance with the entirety of Commissioners House and its enchanting gardens at your disposal. Revel in the joyous occasion with up to 200 cherished guests, as you dance the night away. Indulge in a fully stocked bar featuring your favourite drinks served all night as well as delicious food. When tying the knot here, couples benefit from a complimentary bridal breakfast on the morning of the wedding including tea, coffee, pastries and fresh fruit and not forgetting the all-important prosecco!

For any couples making new wedding bookings for the year 2024, receive a 15% discount on your venue hire as well as a complimentary reception drink for each of your guests.
